In this demo, instead of the laser pointer coming from the user’s hand, the navigation target of the character is moved using relative motion. This creates the effect that you are dragging the navigation target around the scene.
We felt this worked well in this context as it allows more precise manipulation of the navigation target from a distance. It also allows you to navigate to places without a direct line of sight.
